When you cancel your hosting package, all data stored on the server will be deleted. It is therefore crucial to create a backup of your website to ensure a smooth transition to a new provider. You have the choice of making this backup yourself or utilising our support. If you want us to perform the backup for you, the fee is CHF 660.00. The backup includes all relevant files of your website as well as the MYSQL database, which is part of the content management system (CMS). We store the backup both on a USB stick and internally. Unless you notify us otherwise, we will not take any further steps. Please check for yourself which further measures are necessary for your specific case. We will be happy to advise you.
The cancellation of your hosting package requires an adjustment of the name server records (DNS). The DNS is an important service that processes domain name resolution requests, similar to a directory enquiry service. If these settings are not updated, your website can no longer be found. A change of hosting provider can lead to the loss of all email data. In order to secure this information, a backup of the e-mail data is necessary. We offer this backup for CHF 165.00 per e-mail address. It is up to you to decide whether you want to take advantage of this service.
Unless a special agreement has been made, we retain the rights to all materials created as part of our services, such as sketches, drafts, design proposals and the like. The customer receives a non-exclusive right of use after full payment. Any further use requires our written consent.
4.1 The sketches, drafts, design proposals, templates, originals, photographic works, generated data, data recordings (digitisation and data storage), data carriers and all other objects produced by Swiss Media Design GmbH in the course of fulfilling the order shall remain the property of Swiss Media Design GmbH. The customer may order any number of the above-mentioned objects and dispose of them freely.
4.2 Swiss Media Design GmbH shall be entitled to the property rights to the work result or the reproduction documents, in particular the copyright, insofar as the work result or the reproduction documents have come about by means of artistic or creative services of Swiss Media Design GmbH and are not taken over from the documents and data provided by the customer. The same applies to the sketches, drafts, design proposals, templates, originals, photographic works, generated data, data recordings (digitisation and data storage), data carriers and all other objects produced by Swiss Media Design GmbH in the course of fulfilling the order.
